The products offered by LITHOS are based on the natural minerals talc and zeolite. Talc is natural magnesium-silicate-hydrate which shows extremely lamellar structure, high brightness and purity. Further characteristics of the material are: Talc is hydrophobic and chemically inert. With all this attributes talc can enlarge the strength and improve opacity in several kind of applications. Examples of use: Talc in plastics industry: Provides higher strength and/or weight savings Higher flame retardancy Very soft material and therefore the machine is treated with care during the production process Extraordinary whiteness Talc in Paint and coatings: Extreme whiteness for a higher brilliance of colours Due to its high opacity talc is ideal for coatings Through to its highly lamellar structure, talc is an excellent filler for corrosion protect and works as an barrier against moisture and reduces cracking Talc regulates viscosity on a natural basis Zeolite is a natural mineral with a special grid structure and a huge inner surface. Zeolite can bind ions and store water and nutrients. Furthermore the stone can filter pollutants and is able to spread scent and active substances.
